Dr Maral Yazarloo fell in love with Harley Davidson when she was seven years old. Two decades later, she bought her first Harley, a Forty-Eight and then moved on to the more powerful Night Rod. She has clocked the highest mileage on the road by any female Harley rider in India and has since then become one of Harley-Davidson’s most committed female riders. She is the first lady owner of Ducati Diavel and a BMW GS in India combining over 120,000 km on all her bikes.
An avid backpacker, she has travelled across 67 countries. She considers her mother as her role model and inspiration and loves travelling and backpacking. Being an adventure lover, Maral has gone on various trips across the country on her bike with her club (HOI) and loves going on solo rides. Dr. Maral has gone on rides to Dubai, Qatar, Egypt, Italy and Swiss (Alps). She is India’s first and only female rider who was a part of the international HOG ride 2014 from Pune to Bhutan.
She is an experienced rider and can cover distances up to 1500 km each day, depending on the condition of the road and the destination. She was one of the officers of the Pune Chapter in 2015 and has been announced the Vice President of DOC (Ducati Owner Club of India) in 2016. Dr. Maral Yazarloo is the founder of the first lady super biker club of India ‘Lady Riders of India’ and her initiative speaks volumes in support of the changing perception of lady bikers in India.
In March 2017, she is starting her dream ride called “Ride to be ONE” around the globe, from India to Alaska to South America and Africa and Europe to India (via Iran) along with her fellow rider; where in she will be the first Iranian rider to ever go on a global ride that will take a span of 15 months of riding on the same bike.
Dr. Maral believes that strength and confidence come from the mind, and riding the bike gives her a sense of achievement. For her, riding her bikes is more than a thrill; it is a form of meditation and it was one of the best decisions she took in life, wholly and solely for her own happiness.
Her latest bike trip was Pune-leh-Pune on her BMW GS and she made Leh to Pune is 3 stops/4days.
