Mark Twain said “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” I am Anna Boroń, I am 27 years old and I have not found answer yet ‘for why exactly’ but maybe one of answers/ reasons is bike riding. I have 6 years older brother. Since I remember he was riding on bikes and I was staring at him. So once upon a time in hot summer day in 2012, I just woke up and realized that I have to try riding. For another day I signed up for motor driving license and started lessons.
My first motorcycle was Kawasaki Ninja 250, small engine size has allowed me to gain the first skills and confidence behind the wheel, I personally think that this is the perfect bike for beginners. Season with Kawasaki Ninja 250 passed quickly and left ‘hunger speed”, so after a year I decided to change my motor for something bigger – fell in love with Yamaha R6 – but soon I realized that it was totally different motorcycle than Kawasaki Ninja 250.
The first drive ended in the fall and launched paralyzing fear, to be honest I even regret that I bought motor. R6 looked at me from the garage until my brother persuaded me to ride on the Slovakia Ring. And then I started my adventure When I first went to the track in 2014 with Motormania group, I had no idea how to ride in the corners, or how to moves on a motorcycle. I remember after 3 sessions – totally amateur and incorrect riding I turned for help to the Motormania promoter, He asked his friend for a favor to showed me how to ride in one session. This colleague was Adam Badziak, which then, ashamed to admit, I did not hear about him but when my brother heard ‘the name’ He was surprised that I’m so lucky to ride with Polish vice-champion in the class Stocksport on Suzuki GSX-R 1000. Mr. Badziak made that, I again swallowed motorcycle bug, I knew I had to learn a lot and that it will not be easy. And so it was, the first two seasons on the track, was the time to getting know the bike, learning how to knee drag and time of fail and crash. It was not until 2016 got the first small successes: 1st place The Fastest Girl Slovakia Ring 22/09/2016, and 4th place pretendent 600cc in GrandysDuo C-group.
The first cups, enjoying the most, especially when you see the pride in the eyes of the family. My mother, who is an opponent of riding a motorcycles and probably she would prefer if I rode a Vespa than a sport motors – congratulated me with all her heart, and it was more than a plastic recognition cup.
As the 2017 season begin on my new motorcycle Suzuki GSX-R 750 I hope it will be a time of intense training and competition; especially with men, because there is nothing like kicking a male ass on the race.
