Rightly said it, ” True dreamer never ends up without living the dreams “. So here i am up with my story in front of you all , I am Balvir Kaur . A girl who belongs to a small village situated in district Gurdaspur, Punjab. As the women are not given equal privileges as given to men in small town or villages same goes for me . In my family we are four sisters and two brothers, My mother and my dad . My mother who is my lifeline she always treats me like a boy. She provided me with my rights and responsibilities.
When i was a kid and i used to go out with my father if there is some sought of bikers rally passing by our side, i used to say “Dad when i will grow up i want to be the part of such rallies” but as i said girls are not given equal opportunities and on that day my dad said “No, Girls do not ride bikes, bike riding is meant for boys and this thing always made me sad that why not girls. Girls can do anything this is what i always think. As the time passed life was going smooth but when i finished up with my schooling my dad met with some health issues because of which there were financial issues in my family. My two sisters got married earlier and now i am the elder one in my family.
I took all the responsibilities of my father on my shoulders because of which i have to drop my higher studies. I made my brothers and sister settle there career also helped my mother in every situation. Being at home and fulfilling all the responsibilities i learned every work also learned to ride bike in year 2005 from my cousin, who was my very strict teacher and yeah today also i am thankful to him. It took me 5-6 years to settle down my family and financial situation of my family. After that i came to Chandigarh for my study and also for my passion for bike riding.
I shared my passion for bike riding with my mother and she supported me alot. She provided me with the opportunity to ride a bike. On my way to Chandigarh she made me buy a new sports bike FAZER . I came to Chandigarh completed my graduation in hotel management and i am also doing MBA now. After i came to Chandigarh i realized what is the life actually. Chandigarh is not only THE BEAUTIFUL CITY but for me it is THE PLACE TO LIVE YOUR DREAMS. Being a shy girl i rarely interact with anyone but with the passage of time i made good friends, i learned how to live the life.
As we say people learn from experiences so the same goes for me. I learned my good things and important chapters of life by being in Chandigarh far away from my family made me an independent and strong girl. Being a Punjabi and Sardar i was very fond of Royal Enfield, that sound, that look of Royal Enfield always made me love Royal Enfield. As we say where there are friends, there is fun so one day back from my Shimla ride with my friends, i again saw a rally and at that time i realized that my passion for rallies is still alive. From my childhood i had a habit of saving my pocket money which made me buy my own ROYAL ENFIELD THUNDERBIRD 350 in January 2015.
In April 2015 my life changed. One of known approached me and initiated me to join the ride with them and being the only girl in the group of ride made the people recognize me. PTC media took my interview and little how made me feel like a celebrity on that ride and i had that feeling of my dream coming true. After that i joined riding groups and had many rides to Shimla and my riders always treated me like a rider not a girl. I went to hail Himalaya Death Valley which was a great achievement in it self that experience made me more confident and more near to my dream. Recently we had a ride to JAMMU & KASHMIR for tourism With message “Beti Padhao Beti Bachao”and that ride was amazing experience.
Riders from all over the India joined this ride and had a good time with riders. Great achievement with many interviews and meeting good people like (RAHUL GUPTA) I am inspired from him having known more about the beauty of the nature full adventurous ride on-road and off – roading gave many memories. Soon i will be going to live my another dream ” RIDE To LEH LADAKH ” and i am sure that again i am going to create many memories and also making my family proud of me. My biggest happiness lies in having a Ride of whole world on my ROYAL ENFIELD and yeah that also i am going to achieve.
Riding is my passion and also i ride to make women feel confident about themselves and making other people know that a women can do anything because what i believe is “female is the only creature who carries another soul in her body, who bring another soul on this land”. So she can do anything. Its all about passion and knowing your power to do anything. At last i would like to say ” LIFE IS A RIDE AND THERE ARE MORE MILES TO GO” to live your dream. One Life So Live To The Fullest.
